You are cordially invited . . . we like those kind of invitations, don’t we? Usually it is to a celebration we very much do want to be invited to (unless it is some government function, and then all bets are off as to how “fun” it will be).
But God’s invitations, while often cordial, are not always fun. His invitations are less taken with our happiness and more taken with our character. He seems less interested with getting somewhere RIGHT NOW than in the journey.
This week we are going to look at the range of invitations that come with this cross-cultural life. What invitations have you bungled? Which invitations have you extended that reach deep into eternity? When have you extended an invitation and been rebuffed? What invitation do you sense God is extending these days?
