Have You Seen? {February 28, 2016}

Welcome to Have You Seen?  We’ll review last week and share other posts from around the web. Enjoy rest and renewal while you cozy up for some soul-food reading.

Last Week’s Theme: Fluff

10 iPhone Apps You Needed Yesterday by Lauren Pinkston—”I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS WEEK’S THEME! My life is all kinds of too serious. I love things that are helpful. And hilarious. And just generally awesome. So I’m here with ten iPhone apps I can guarantee will revolutionize your life. You may already have half of them, but please humor me as I celebrate the glory of these little icons.”

Where Are the Gutsy Girls? {Book Club + Give Away} by Amy L. Sullivan—”A year ago, I looked at my daughters’ bookshelf and noticed it resembled a TV listing. We owned children’s Bibles and a handful of Christian reads, but as I stared at the shelf, I noticed we were missing picture books about strong Christian women. Where were the stories of the women who loved God in big ways?” You can still enter and win a copy!

Language Flubs + Fluffy Lemon Meringue Pie by Ashely Felder—”Language flubs/ mishaps/ mistakes/ embarrassments/ tragedies. They’re bound to happen when living amidst another culture. But we have to keep sticking our necks out there and trying, right? We learn from our mistakes, and usually have a good laugh at them later.”

Capture the Fluffy Moments by Jenilee Goodwin—”Where these things could make a mess of our attitude and possibly steal our joy, let us purpose to not give in to the very real annoyance. Let us allow God to flood our heart with the humor of the moment. Let us laugh and capture the fluff. Take a step back, look at it with new eyes and maybe even crack a smile. This life is full of such moments… let’s enjoy them!”

Share Your Lighter Side {The Grove: Fluff} by Amy Young—”Today’s Grove is going to be a little different because I want to hear from YOU! Yes, you, you who rarely comment or you who often comment. You who are reading this. Hi! Hi to you :). We had so much fun last summer sharing 10 questions around the topic of enjoy, we thought we’d bring it back. Not enjoy per se, but 10 questions that are fun and fluffy, allowing us to connect on other aspects of who we are.”

And Now for Next Week

The Theme is…

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

You will find rest for your soul.

You will.

Jesus said, “My yoke is easy.” How are you needing this message?

You’ve probably heard, “Jesus said it, I believe it, that settles it.” On one level that’s true, but can we be honest? What makes it hard for you to believe Jesus when he said his yoke is easy? Where is that a deep and profound comfort?

This week we are going to camp around the idea of being yoked.  What do you feel yoked to these days? Where do you feel unequally yoked?

So come with your thoughts, images, and link ups on “Yoke” when we gather at The Grove. We learned you can link up using Instagram. Play about with it this week and see what pictures you come up with.  Use #yoke.  See you at The Grove, it begins Thursday 6pm EST.
