Last Week’s Theme: Renewing
Building a Daily Foundation of Renewal by Jenilee Goodwin—”On the seemingly simpler days of the past or on the possibly more difficult days to come, I must have a foundation that remains firm. I don’t need this foundation of daily renewal more right now than I did before. The truth is that we need it every single day, no matter what.”
Sibling Love {Book Club} by Sarah Hilkemann—”I think that’s why I love the idea of teammates as sacred siblings. The people who are willing to go the extra mile for you, to go on crazy adventures in attic crawl spaces just because they care about you.”
How Was Your Sabbatical? by Danielle Wheeler—”I can say definitively that sabbatical was renewing. If we are acquaintances, I will smile and leave my answer at that. And you may walk away thinking my sabbatical was like a nice nap that simply made me feel refreshed and ready to go again.”
Release. Reform. Renew by Stephanie Prater-Clarke—”I love watching home renovation shows. There’s something about taking that old, uninhabitable fixer upper and transforming it into the re-imagined livable space that intrigues me.”

The theme is…

When “Yet I Will Celebrate” raised her hand as the theme for the 2020 retreat, we had no idea how much we would need these words, this discipline, this way of life.
In the moments when it has felt like the world is falling apart, when you have felt crushed by loneliness and hopelessness, how have you remembered to celebrate?
This is a collective pause to circle back to what the Father taught you during the retreat this year. It is an opportunity to start fresh, to remember, to grab your Bible and let the words of Habakkuk 3:17-19 sink deep into your hearts.
If you weren’t able to be part of the retreat with us in the spring, you can still get lifetime access! Just head over to our website to learn more. Also check out what our friends had to say about rejoicing and celebration earlier this year here.
We can’t wait to chat with our sisters who are sharing their hearts as we celebrate what God has done in their lives, so make sure you check out our blog posts this week! We also want to hear from YOU, and see what you are celebrating in the craziness and beauty that has been 2020. Share on social media with the hashtag #VelvetAshesCelebrate!

Make sure you tune in to our last Facebook Live in our summer series as we chat about the joys and challenges of marriage on the field!
