Have You Seen? {July 8, 2018}

Welcome to Have You Seen? We’ll review last week and share other posts from around the web. Enjoy rest and renewal while you cozy up for some soul-food reading.

Last Week’s Theme: Sabbath

The rhythms of soul inhaling and exhaling orient us to God, ourselves, and others. We have just finished our annual Sabbath break together. We practice these annual rhythms together because they form and inform us as individuals and as a body. Another way to continue these rhythms intentionally is to buy a Velvet Ashes Retreat (have you participated in all four? If not, God is waiting to meet with you!).

Another option is the Azmera Retreats. They are in person and affordable. The next one is in Cyprus from November 8 to 11 (yes, this year 2018). Read here for more details. Look into it today!

What Will Cause You to Panic?

And Now for Next Week

The theme is….

What sounds fun to you right now?

A walk on the beach? Finding a patch of grass to play soccer with your kids? A nap or the latest novel by your favorite author?

Sometimes it can be hard to figure out fun on the field. Far too often, our community of overseas workers isn’t the best at making time to unwind and just enjoy.

So let’s talk about it! We can learn from each other as we share ideas, experiences and all the good things about fun! Come check out The Grove, and share your moments of fun with us this week on Instagram with the hashtag #VelvetAshesFun.

Through the months of July and August we will keep taking a weekly Sabbath breath with one less post each week. Let the Father remind you how to pause and fill your life with His rest.

    Fun is something I have really felt is missing the last year or so. For me fun here is going to the Opera House for any performance but especially ballet. It’s quite affordable here and extra fun if I get to dress up and maybe go for dinner first. Of course, going to the beach is also fun and parties, which I like to throw but can take a bit of work and energy.
