Working, waiting, waning, withering, weak, worn.
Weary.
Busy, bored, bruised, bothered, beat, burnt out, bone tired.
Burdened.
Whatever condition you find yourself in, God’s invitation is “Come and I will give you rest. Learn from me the unforced rhythms of grace.”
Renew, rekindle, recharge, rejuvenate, refresh, recover.
Rest.
Explore with us what it means to “rest”. Join the discussion this week in the comments, on Instagram using #VelvetAshesRest, and then at The Grove beginning Thursday 6pm EST. Bring your blog posts to link up.
Kinda crazy that this week is Rest. I have been dealing with this issue personally for some time now, and I have been planning on writing about it at ALO later this week! P.S. I am loving the themes from Adele’s book — they seem to be repeating everything I have been learning over the last year or two.
You know I love the book too :). And these themes? I have a feeling they are life lessons for us! At least for me. 🙂
Love that you guys are exploring themes of Rest. It’s so important and yet we feel so guilty at times when we take that time to rest. Yet it’s essential to surrender, to know God can do so much more when we release things to Him rather than try to make them happen. I’ve just written an eBook about this and I’m looking for feedback and ways to add to it from global workers serving all over, in difficult and hard places. It’s so much more fun when it’s a collaborative effort. http://www.saritahartz.com/new-ebook-self-care-plan-global-workers/
