The Grove Word Prompt: Authentic

Genuine. Real. Honest. Authentic.

In the glimmering world of social media and airbrushed beauty, it can be easy to portray only our very best selves. The me that gets attention, or who my organization needs me to be. We can rightly adapt and adjust our routines and words and actions to fit in best with the culture around us, carrying gospel light without the wrapping of customs that might offend or confuse. Even these kingdom intentions can lead to the question: Who am I really?

We can find great freedom as we learn more about who God has created us to be and seek to live authentically, right where we are and in the season we are in. What does it look like to serve and live in your context as fully yourself? How can that be a struggle?

We hope this week will allow space to look carefully at your heart and life. May you be in awe of your uniqueness, the Father’s creative design and the tapestry He weaves as He fits us all together. Share your thoughts at The Grove, through your comments and on Instagram this week with the hashtag #VelvetAshesAuthentic.
