The Grove Word Prompt: Content

Philippians 4:11-13 (NLT) Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.

We are the queens of making do with little.

We know how to whip up a world-class holiday meal with only the ingredients found in the local market, and maybe a few strategic finds while visiting the big city. We make our homes beautiful, despite the dust and concrete and creatures. We have learned how to wash clothes by hand or take a bucket bath, or master the complicated train system. We do what needs to be done.

Are we content?

Under all the managing, does joy reside? This is a space to be honest, to share stories of fighting for contentment and the wins and loses in that department. We hope you will allow God to open up those corners of your heart this week, and include us in that journey. You can link your blog posts and add your comments all about contentment at the Grove. What does contentment look like for you, right now? Share a picture with us on Instagram using the hashtag #VelvetAshesContent.
