The Grove Word Prompt: Everyday Shalom

Romans 12:1 (The Message) So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.

We live love loud in the places we serve, but do we sometimes forget the people we interact with the most? Our family members, our teammates, these everyday relationships can sometimes be anything but peaceful.

Perhaps it is time to hit pause. Do some soul-searching. Do some celebrating and thanking of those people who make up our day-in-and-day-out lives.

Let’s not think that shalom, peace, is merely a heart state or a big spiritual concept. This week, let’s look with eyes open for the ways that shalom weaves through our daily moments, relationships, attitudes and actions. Will you come and share with us at The Grove? Will you give face and voice to your everyday shalom this week with your Instagram posts? Don’t forget to use the hashtag #VelvetAshesEverydayShalom this week as you do.
