The Grove Word Prompt: Journey

The Christmas decorations are put away, special treats have all been consumed, and the rush of the season has been replaced with the expectancy and normalcy of a new year.

We spent the last two weeks of December reflecting on Mary’s heart as she treasured up all the experiences surrounding Jesus’ birth and pondered them. Maybe we aren’t quite finished pondering ourselves.

In January we want to continue to make this a space of reflection. This week we are particularly taking time to think about our journeys. Perhaps your journey to the field feels long and unending. Your journey might bring you back to your passport country this year for good. What has God been teaching you in the last leg or two of your walk with Him?

As part of this grace-filled space this month, we will have one less blog post each week, giving you Thursday (Wednesday evening EST) to carve out your own time to rest, pray, reflect on the week’s theme and ask the Lord where He wants to take you in 2019. We are grateful that you are here to walk this journey with us!

Share your comments and thoughts this week on the blog! At the end of the week we will have the Grove, a post that allows for continued reflection and discussion in the comments. You can also share your journeys with us on Instagram this week with the hashtag #VelvetAshesJourney.
