The Grove Word Prompt: Let Us Go

Luke 2:14-15 “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased”. When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about”.

An encounter with glory. A decision to go.

Sound familiar?

Our stories mirror this cold night when the shepherds were out in the field, walking out obedience by laboring in familiarity. Heaven came down in the form of the angels’ song and these guys couldn’t remain in the place of ordinary any longer.

Going might feel like second nature in this community. We nod our heads and say, “Of course. It is just what we do.” But sometimes going means saying no to something in order to say yes to something else. It might mean stepping across the street to meet someone new when your energy is wearing thin. Going might be returning to your passport country.

So sisters, let’s go. Let’s encounter the King of Kings and hear His prompt to move in the direction He is moving. We have lots in store for you this week as we explore this theme, and we hope you’ll join us in the comments. The Grove is a place where we wrap up our conversations at the end of the week, and you can also link up your own blog posts related to our theme.
