Joan Holwerda

Joan lived near the Auca Indians in Ecuador in the 1960’s, gave birth by the light of a lantern in Nigeria in 1969, watched men kill a cobra in her yard the day she arrived in Africa with 2 young kids, and traveled to more countries than she can list. But, none of those compares to the joy and challenge of raising 4 incredible kids, and being a grandma to 11 amazing grand kids. She loves her new IPad which she uses to play Suduko, do puzzles, and Skype with dear ones who are far away. She makes a mean spaghetti, laughs easily, and will drop anything to spend precious time with those she loves. Her deepest joy throughout all of her life has been the faithful presence of Jesus Christ.
