My overseas journey started 6 years ago with a rejected job application and that phase ended with an engagement ring. Marrying a local was never part of the plan, but after five years I still believe yet God calls us to stay here, to live in this city, amongst these people. I spend my days writing kids ministry resources and ‘tentmaking’. I still can’t hold a conversation in the native language and my adventures with local churches could put people off Christianity all together!

Hi! I’m Kylie. Wife, mom, dreamer, and Educational Director of an NGO I started with my husband to provide education for kids in conflict and raise the standard of education globally. We aim to use our skills and passions to build relationships that will impact eternity. I love reading, writing, creating, and hanging out with my favorite guys (and we’ll be adding another one around Thanksgiving – but we don’t know if it’s a boy or girl!)
I don’t always love the process, but I love what God is doing in my heart through crossing cultures and making me more dependent on Him.

Well….if Jesus should tarry and I leave this earthly life before his return, I would like my gravestone to say: For me to live is Christ and to die is gain. I long to know Jesus more and more, be daily in his presence and to also love his people , messiness and all.
My husband and I have been married 26 years. We have served in missions or the pastorate for most of that time. We have nine kids. Only 4 live with us. Two of our adult kids are also M’s…Jon currently serves in England as he is awaiting his marriage but his heart home is Uganda. My eldest daughter is serving with YWAM Ships currently in Australia but heading to PNG soon. We serve on a remote island off the coast of Panama. We are the operation location leaders of this YWAM Ships ministry called Outpost Panama.
We lead discipleship training schools, work in the villages with community education and health care, and disciple our children and staff. My husband went to Dallas Theological Seminary and received his ThM. He loves to preach and teach; and often we both have the opportunity to speak in conferences, retreats or other YWAM locations. We have done about everything imaginable in Christian ministry but find we really just like being with a variety of people and encouraging them in their faith and then enjoying our families and the beautiful creation we live in.

Though my little kitchen and closet of vibrant African dresses are in Ghana, I spend a lot of time with my suitcase, traveling through West Africa. As an M* with Reach Beyond, I equip local partners to further their proclamation of Christ through development-focused WASH projects. Which, for better or worse, means talking a lot about poop. Getting to do all this work alongside my husband has made for lots of shared memories – oh what stories we will have to tell the some-day kids!

Just a freckle-faced gal married to a Mexican with three youngsters (3,5,7), and a view of the Nile from our back porch. While we’ve had our feet on the red dirt permanently since 2010, we’ve pretty much been on the journey towards disciple-making overseas collectively since we got engaged, and personally since I claimed my own relationship with God. Our first year of marriage took place with 7 different moves in one year, so my soul search of “What is Home?” feels like an intrinsic part of me.
