Cassidy

I am 25 years old. I live and work in Haiti as a school psychologist, English teacher and communications liaison. I have a heart for children, and the vulnerable. I love waterfalls, Gilmore girls, photography, making up food combinations and napping with my cat. Im just trying to follow God’s path for me, with lots of opportunities for learning along the way.

Paola Armfield

My name is Paola Armfield.

I love Christ and making Him known. I love learning new things, making good coffee, cooking, singing, dancing, exercising, writing, and so much more. I love connecting with people from many walks of life.

I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia.

I grew up as a Catholic, but never really practiced my tradition. However, I knew there was a God, but He just seemed unapproachable to me.

I came to know Christ when I was 17 and I will be eternally grateful that He looked upon me with compassion.

After finishing high school and working for a year in a rural area of Colombia as an English teacher and after the Lord opened many doors, I came to the Unites States to go to college 6 years ago. It was one of the biggest and hardest transitions of my life, but I was eager to come to this country and learn.

In school, a growing passion for cross-cultural service developed. I graduated from Emmaus Bible College with a Bible/Theology and Intercultural Studies degree along with a minor in TESOL.

I met my husband in school and got married 2 years ago. We both have a strong desire to serve as missionaries and we can see how the Lord is leading our hearts and steps in that direction. This year, we served in Italy for 3 months, being part of a local church there, teaching English in 3 different communities, and befriending refugees. We’ll also spend 3 months in Colombia encouraging the local church and supporting the work of some missionaries here.

As we prepare to go to the mission field in a couple years while my US immigration paperwork is done, my mission field is in the States. I am a Colombian girl in Dubuque, Iowa and I am convinced that the Lord has me here to be light in a place with people who desperately need Him, both Americans and internationals. Some days being away from my country and family is harder than others, but I know the Lord has me here for an eternal purpose.

We serve at our local church. Through ESL and hospitality, the Lord keeps bringing into my/our life opportunities to connect with other immigrants in our town, many from a Muslim background, and share a friendship and Christ with them.

That’s briefly who I am and where I’m at.

Olá! My husband, JD, and I serve with Shores of Grace Ministries (shoresofgrace.com) in Recife, Brasil. We are transitioning into leading the street ministry in some of the poorest and most dangerous parts of our city. We also work with women and children in prostitution and sex trafficking, families in favelas (slums), and children in our girls’ home here. We are new to this whole lifestyle, but we are expectant of what God will do through us here.

I love to cook, read, take photos, and spend time with my husband exploring our new home. I can’t wait to connect with others through VA.

Marie

I’m a Norwegian married to a German
We have 2 kids and are on our way opening a business and hoping to see God’s Kingdom grow through that.

Hi! I moved to South East Asia in the summer of 2017 and am currently studying language, but in January of 2018, I will begin working as the Associate Director of Marketing at Oasis International School! As such, I play a little more of a tent-making role in my city and am very excited to see what the Lord has in store for me in my time here!

Lisa

I’m living in Uganda, working with boys who have been rescued from life on the streets. I’m single and taking care of twin boys. I serve with CTEN.

I am a single Intercultural worker serving my first term with Kids Alive International in Kenya. We work with children at risk and orphans by sharing Christ’s love with them and helping meet their needs.

Stacy R

Went to serve in East Asia nine years ago as a single woman and came back to the US with a husband and two kids. We recently relocated back to Minneapolis, a new place for all of us and are slowly getting settled in. We’re here now for the next couple of years and unsure when we’ll head back.

Hi! I live in a beautiful city in East Asia where I teach English and disciple national women for preparation to serve overseas. I previously worked with international students in the States, which I loved, and I’m so grateful for all the ways God used them to prepare me for living in Asia.

Laura

Hi! My name is Laura, I’m a twenty-something living and working in Northern Uganda. I’m most likely quoting Gilmore Girls, loving on kids and craving tacos.

Monica

Hi! My name is Monica and my family have lived in KZ for 15 years. I have been married for 28 years to an incredible God-loving man. I have 4 adult children (my 2 oldest are married, my 3rd child is a senior in college and our youngest is a senior in high school this year), 2 daughter-in-laws, a granddaughter and another granddaughter on the way). My ministry is mostly being involved in loving and showing JC to local special needs orphans and mentally challenged adults living near me. It’s a blessing but comes with many hard days. I praise God for Velvet ashes ministry and how it blesses and challenges me:)
