Cecilia

I am South African and have been serving in Marseille, France for just over two years. I am part of a multi-cultural church plant team, and we have a cultural café in the arts district in the heart of the city where we host musical events, English clubs and serve great coffee to connect with our community.
Velvet Ashes has been a great source of support over the last two years. Serving as a single lady overseas and dealing with the death of my best friend in my passport country has been quite challenging. Through the regular on point encouragement through Velvet Ashes I’ve managed to navigate the various challenges of singleness on the field, multi-cultural teams, and grieving loss with more grace and transparency.

I am an adult TCK that grew up in France. I have friends who are serving all over the world and I want to get back to the field, hopefully in Ireland. We are daunted by the idea of fundraising to get a family of five plus one dog overseas but I am learning to believe and trust in Gods bigger plans.
Julie Ellen

I’m Julie and I live in Nairobi working with Cross Cultural families. I will be helping new overseas working families transition to living abroad. I will be serving for 2 years. I like running, reading, singing, playing guitar, laughing, and telling stories. I am from Minnesota but I hate the cold. I love the new adventure of figuring out life abroad and I’m so excited to be able to help families figure it out as well.
Autumn Buzzell

My name is Autumn Buzzell and I am a Cross Cultural worker in Ghana, West Africa with an organization called City of Refuge Ministries (www.cormghana.com). I am the Director of Education and oversee the running of a school which aides in the education of our 60 children as well as over 150 children from the surrounding community. I have lived in Ghana for 5 1/2 years.

Spend my days educating TCKs and moonlighting as an EdTech {wannabe} guru. Outside the classroom I enjoy a good awkward encounter, singing in the shower, day dreaming about Dr. Pepper, travel adventure, laughing ’til I get my six pack, and a heaping dose of grace because I’m human. I am the black sheep of a book club, who also happens to be fluent in sarcasm.
life motto: you do you.
current prayer: tune my heart to sing thy grace & be thou my vision

I am doing Youth Ministries with a group of churches, mostly village churches. We run camps, seminars, conferences, and train leaders.

Our family is culturally blended, we speak 3 languages in the home. We are living in Vienna, Austria serving as M’s with a non-profit that ministers to over 20 countries. We provide Bibles, ethics and training materials that are used in ministries and mission efforts primarily in Easter European countries from the former Iron curtain. I am blessed to make the book covers, as well as travel to network, speak and teach. It is a real blessing to see all of the powerful ways the Lord has in the worked past and continues to move to get his word into the hands of many who may not have had the opportunity to come to know him. We want everyone to have the Bible in their own language.
Bethany

I’m an adult TCK (grew up in West, Central, and East Africa) who now lives with my husband in the land of the eternal blue sky. We moved here in 2014 to teach English in a public high school and feel privileged to work with such wonderful students. Prior to moving to northern Asia, we lived in Seattle, WA.

I’m 26 and have an education in Early Childhood Special Education. I have a burden and passion for orphans and overseas service.

We have been here two months and are adjusting to life here. It is my 6th trip, but now here for the long haul and hubby and 3 year old daughter came too.
We have a heart for the orphaned child and are looking to become a foster toddler home for an established orphaned baby home. We wait on God and learn to be patient!!
Although I have been here so many times before the isolation of no local friend is very hard for me. Your website is a lifeline thank you.
