What is your nightly routine?
In Liturgy of the Ordinary, Tish Harrison Warren says, “Our sleep habits both reveal and shape our loves. A decent indicator of what we love is that for which we willingly give up sleep.” This might be our children, a good book or our favorite television show. Our worries, plans and work can also steal sleep from us. Add in the challenges of travel, time changes, loud environments and cities that never quiet, and it is a wonder we get any rest at all.
Have you evaluated your sleep routines lately? Maybe it is time to do that this week as we honor the sacred practice of rest. How is God teaching you to put your cares aside and develop healthy routines? We look forward to sharing together at the Grove, and add your favorite sleep ideas and stories over on Instagram with the hashtag #VelvetAshesSleeping.
