Luke 2:9-10 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
Fear not.
Easier said than done, am I right? Natural disasters, violence, unrest, deadly diseases, family issues back home. A constant stream of worries can lay heavy on our hearts, never mind the phone call out of the blue or the change we weren’t prepared for that can knock us off our feet.
This angel offered the shepherds a message of joy instead of fear. As we bow our hearts before the throne this season, putting those fear burdens down at the feet of the God of comfort and peace, we can find this joy too.
This week we can link arms and hearts to give grace for the fears that resist and cling tight. There will be posts that offer vulnerable stories and hope that fills. The Grove is a place to join together as we wrap up the week. Use this post to ponder what the Father has taught you through the week, share your thoughts with the Instagram community, and add your insights through the comments. This week, let’s share our stories of how God has met us in our fear on Instagram with the hashtag #VelvetAshesFearNot.
