Before we left for our first assignment, a friend advised us to take a lot of photos in the first couple weeks, noting that it doesn’t take long before people stop noticing the uniqueness of their surroundings. “Amazing” becomes ordinary. “Wow” turns into ho hum. “Hilarious” is hardly noticed.
I doubt any of us would consider our lives dull. But when is the last time you stopped to take a good look around you and soak in the color of your life?
