It’s the beginning, a grand introduction of what is to come. A musical overture starts a theme that is carried throughout the rest of an opera or score, that keeps appearing in each movement of a large piece.
It’s also that first gesture, reaching out through the awkwardness or past our comfort zones toward connection and care.
