What does it mean to participate? In the book club we will be looking at Chapter 1 in Invitations From God by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun: the invitation to participate in your own healing. Jesus asks a man, “Do you want to get well?”
The answer seems obvious, doesn’t it?
What does it mean to participate? Taken to one extreme, we say yes to too much and give more than we are asked by God to give. Taken to the other extreme, we may be like the man by the pool who seemed to have given up hope.
Can I really ever learn this language?
Will my aging parents be okay if I leave?
What about all of the children I did not help today?
Grief is too exhausting.
