This week’s prompt: Enjoy

As we’re cruising toward the end of July, and this season is flying by. Are you enjoying it? Maybe not all of the yuck in life, but what you can, are you enjoying it?

We hope so. So, before we start a special three week series next week, we want to slow down, pause, and savor.

Enjoy means “to take delight or pleasure” in. Where are you taking delight or pleasure in your family? Your spouse? Your calling? Your home? Your neighborhood? Yourself? Your hobbies? Nature? If slowing down long enough to enjoy is not your natural wiring, may this week be an invitation.

I often associate Ecclesiastes with the word “meaningless”–and in all fairness it is used more than 35 times–but guess which book of the Bible has the most verses about enjoying life? Ecclesiastes! There are eight verses that talk about enjoying.

So I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to find satisfaction in work. Then I realized that these pleasures are from the hand of God. For who can eat or enjoy anything apart from him? Ecclesiastes 2:24-25

This week we’ll be enjoying nature, hobbies, books, people, space, quiet. And the list goes on. May this be a breath of life to your soul.

Connection is what makes any information meaningful. So, we’ll meet up at The Grove on Thursday beginning at 6pm EST. I (Amy) look forward to connecting with you over Enjoy.
