What baking items should I bring?
Will my kids make friends quickly?
What if I fail at language learning?
The questions might be swirling before any suitcase gets packed, before those last hugs goodbye, before the plane takes off from the airport.
This is the season of preparation. This is the season of going.
And what a sweet season it is! The excitement and passion the Father has stirred up in you is beautiful. The energy you are about to bring to the field is amazing. We couldn’t be more excited for you!
There is so much waiting for you: joys and sorrows, pain and frustration, and loneliness. But, for now, we want to be like that big sister that comes alongside and puts her arm around your shoulders.
This week, our posts will be all about heading to the field. Ask your questions, share your doubts and what brings on the nervous jitters. If that season of preparation feels like ancient history, we hope you will use this week to be reminded of all that the Father taught you in that season, and pass those words of wisdom on to the rest of us.
We can’t wait to hear what you have to say this week. Join in the blog comments, and on social media with the hashtag #VelvetAshesGoing.
