This Week’s Theme: Mothering

Psalm 91:4 (NIV) He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Whether we have felt the first kick of babe-in-womb or waved goodbye as the last child drove off to college, we who bear the image of God can mother.

As God covers us with His feathers like a momma hen, we protect and love and celebrate with our own children, the neighborhood kids who play on our stoop and the ones who are part of our teams.

This week we are honoring all the amazing and expansive facets of motherhood. We see you mommas of TCKs, and the moms and grandmas who send us off from airports with tears hidden behind weak smiles. We see you single women who wait and long and hold the title of “auntie” like a badge of honor. We see you who have lost babies and wait with empty arms.

Who has God called you to mother right now? Who is mothering you?
