Kathy Maurer

I have lived in and out of the country but felt God called me to be a “bridge” to the nations and to the people. I am a life and leadership coach for those on and off the field.  I am also a consultant and trainer.

Sumatra Mama

Living in rural Sumatra, and mostly loving it, since 2010 with my adventurous husband of 10 years. I learned how to be a mama in a new land, now with a 4, 3, and 2 year old who keep me on my toes and fill my life with joy! Love meeting people who understand what it’s like to live and love in another culture!

I’m from the East Coast of the US, and have lived in China for four years with my husband of almost eight years! 🙂  I’m currently serving as the Shepherd pastor in an expat fellowship in Shanghai, and am learning in increasing measure the truth of the Beatitudes in everyday life.  I love sharing delicious conversation over an equally delicious cup of coffee, as well as discerning the divine voice while hiking in the forest.  One of those activities is easy to do in Shanghai, while the other one keeps me continually searching!   I’d love to embark on the search for either/both of these things with any friends from Velvet Ashes who find themselves in town :).
