When You Long to Hear God

I’m sitting here today with that sweet post-retreat glow. I’ve just returned from retreating with twenty-four of you in the beautiful hills of Tuscany, and our team is still in awe of how God met and ministered to each woman. As I flip through photos and savor the memories, I’m reminded again of the heart behind every Velvet Ashes retreat.

As much as we love gathering in a stunning location—sharing good food, laughter, and tears—we know this kind of experience isn’t possible for most. And yet, the need remains the same for every woman serving cross-culturally: the need for renewal, and the need for unhurried time and space with Jesus.

That’s why we create a retreat you can experience right where you are. No plane ticket required.

It’s also why we set a shared date. We want you to know you are not alone in this life you are living, and you are not alone as you retreat. An entire community of women are retreating alongside you, all across the globe. You get to interact and share with each other throughout your retreat.

And it’s happening THIS weekend. It’s not too late to join.

If this weekend doesn’t work for you, you can still register at the current price and plan a time that fits your life. You might even consider gathering a few others and using our host guide to retreat together.

This year’s theme stems from a question I hear more than any other:
“How can I know God’s voice?”

You want to hear from God. You believe he speaks. And still, there are questions—maybe even tensions—around what that really means. Do you trust that you can know God’s voice?

This retreat gently walks you through a biblical understanding of hearing from God, creating space to learn and to listen.

Because what if God is always speaking—but your life has simply been too full to notice?

Retreat opens up that space. It invites you to slow down, to pay attention, and to become more aware of his presence and his voice.

It also helps you grow in discernment. If God speaks internally, how do you distinguish his voice from your own thoughts or impulses? Together, we’ll begin to notice those inner patterns, so you can more confidently recognize what is from you—and what is from him.

And ultimately, this retreat offers a vision for a life rooted in secure attachment to God. As you listen, you can hear the truths he is speaking over you—the ones your heart most needs to receive. There will be space for him to meet you personally, in that way of his that is both gentle and deeply transformative.

The same retreat content that women in Tuscany described as “life-changing” is available to you, right where you are.

You are invited. Join us for this year’s Velvet Ashes Online Retreat—“Listen: Hear My Voice.”
