Psalm 51:12 (ESV) Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
The carpenter kneels beside the old cabinet, tools in hand. His work is slow, gentle, as he takes what has become worn and broken, nicked and scratched, and restores beauty. It’s not perfect or like it was in the very beginning. The stories this piece has witnessed remain.
Restoration does not mean we return to our original state, but we are strengthened and invigorated. The scars tell stories of suffering and faithfulness.
Our God is a God who revives. You are worthy of restoration.
How is God restoring you? Are there tender places where you are longing for restoration to come?
