“The world is not as it should be. Not yet. We wait in the shadows for God’s full redemption and perfect light that is promised.” —Tsh Oxenreider, Shadow and Light: A Journey into Advent
Waiting can feel like carrying a heavy backpack—laden with the burden of uncertainty, weighed down by the tension of not knowing what lies around the next corner, or with the ache of longing for answers that seem just out of reach.
Waiting can also stir butterflies in our stomachs—flutters of anticipation and hope as the promise of what’s to come fills us with excitement and trepidation, mingling joy with fear of the unknown.
Sometimes, waiting is a dull, fuzzy experience—like watching a clock that seems to move in slow motion, stretching moments into what feels like an eternity, leaving us feeling restless and weary.
Yet, waiting is a season in itself—a space where we are invited to pause, to reflect, and to discover.
What does waiting feel like to you in this season of your life?
