What a month, eh? If you’ve been on the field for a while, it’s been a time of reflecting on your first year (or a return to the field after a Home Assignment). If you’re new to the field, you’ve gotten a taste of the conversations Velvet Ashes has. For all, it’s been good to spend time exploring how coming to serve dances with making a home and enculturating.
This week we want to officially welcome those new to the field to Velvet Ashes! In all of the activity, you might wonder where to dive in and who might be your people. Great questions! This week is for you.
A special request to those of you who have been a part of Velvet Ashes, please comment this week and let our new friends know what you love about Velvet Ashes. Several years ago I (Amy) got to have tea with a Connection Group Facilitator in person. She told me that after the retreat she shared something she learned with her husband and that when they were back in the U.S. her husband shared it with their pastor. She asked him, “Did you just VA our pastor?!”
Isn’t that the best line ever? We’ve all been VA’ed in some way or another. Do tell!
And we have a special announcement for those of you newbies!! On September 7th at 9:00 a.m. EST, Danielle and I will be hosting a webinar just for you! Stay tuned for more details.
This week let’s share on Instagram where you are “Velvet Ashing” — do you read on your phone? In the morning? With coffee? Use the hashtag #VelvetAshesVelvetAshing and let us see! Don’t forget to stop by The Grove as we wrap up the week with words of grace and opportunities to learn from each other.
