Summer is just around the corner. For many of us that means a change is coming. And maybe you feel that change sitting at the forefront of your mind.
Someone you know and love is leaving. Someone new and unknown is coming. Maybe you are the one packing your bags, heading “home” for a visit, or maybe for good.
The posts that we have in store for you this week may forever change the way that you look at and handle change. I am in no way being overly dramatic.
Here’s our line-up:
Monday — Amy Young is defining a pre-griever and a post-griever. These terms? They saved me and my husband many a marital storm. Because I’m a pre-griever and he’s a post-griever. So before one of our global moves, when I was having a weepy meltdown, he said, “You’re pre-grieving, right?” Yes! Then a couple months after our big transition when he was having a hard time, a light bulb went off and I said, “Oooh! You’re post-grieving right now. I get it.” Trust me, you NEED these terms in your life to understand yourself and those around you.
Tuesday – At book club, we’ll talk about letting go of supposed-to’s and hash out what meaning and calling really mean. As always, rich discussion involved.
Wednesday – Patty Stallings shared with me years ago her wisdom about transition. Since then I have positively clung to her words when I feel like I’m drowning in the chaos of transition. When I just want it to be over and I want my life calm and settled and normal, I remember her words. Read this post, and then you will too.
Thursday – You get to hear from one of my favorite people in the world, Melissa Chaplin. If you are in the process of re-entering your home country (or ever plan to do so), this post will be a life vest for you. You will be bookmarking this post and returning to it again and again for all the gold that you will find.
Friday – We’ll gather at The Grove to share on our prompt “Return.” Can’t wait to see what this stirs in you. I just know I’ve got a word burning in my heart for all those who have returned or are returning.
Clearly, it’s going to be a good week around here.
